Hi there

MenuBuilder was a separate application that shipped with Captivate up to and including version 3. Version 4 dropped it from the offerings and replaced it with the Aggregator.

If you still have version 3 installed you should have MenuBuilder. Captivate launched the separate MenuBuilder application but never opened the files from inside Captivate. If you uninstalled version 3, it probably uninstalled MenuBuilder as well.

Thanks for the update. My Captivate 3 must have been removed without me knowing it. I though I had lost my mind. I'm assuming you can create a similar project using Captivate 4. I used the menu to launch all types of programs - pdf. ,exe etc

Thanks again for the help

Hello again

Well, yes you can use a menu in Captivate 4. The down side is that it won't be a simple thing to accomplish like it was in MenuBuilder.

You might investigate creating a slide with several links to open the content. Then you will create a menu entry point that displays that slide when clicked by the user. Additionally, Captivate seems to have issues with opening certain file types. Where MenuBuilder excelled at this, Captivate seems to have issues.

Can't explain why. Obviously it's a difference in the way things are coded.

Cheers... Rick
