Menubuilder audio

I have background audio on my menubuilder project. When I click a link, the project that it is linked to immediately has audio. The menu audio does not stop. It continues playing over the audio of the linked project. How do you get the menu audio to stop when a link is clicked?

    Rick,

What will make the menu appear at the end of a linked movie so that the viewer can choose their next selection? Will that be automatic or do I need to go to the individual projects and select in the movie preferences to go to the menu file at the end of the movie? I tried this latter option....and it did not work.

    Hi Brock22

If your MenuBuilder is .EXE format, your linked movies typically open in a new window. I believe the intent is to close the window once finished. As long as nothing else occurred, closing the second window would simply cause the first to become visible again. From here, the user would click the next link. Or, if you wanted an automatic solution, you cold configure the end option for movie one to start movie two and so on.

    Cheers... Rick

Got it....I've published the menu as an .exe file and as a .swf file. The execuatable file opens up a new window because the links are .swf files. When the menu is an .swf file, it opens the links in the same window. Now, I wonder if my links are published as .exe files and my menu is an .exe file if it will open in the same window. I'm going to try that next because I really would like for the program to start as soon as the CD is put in the computer. I sure am talking to myself a lot here....hope it helps someone else.

    Hi Brock22

As you have seen, you can get quite different results with the assorted combinations of .SWF/.HTML/.EXE MenuBuilder and .SWF/.EXE Captivate output types. There are many ways to combine them and almost every combination produces unexpected results.

    Cheers... Rick

I may have just found it...I'm going to try this. Double click on the link within the menu. Go to advanced settings. Click open link in same window. Surely that will work. I know I've read where a lot of you are having the same trouble. Let's try that and see.

When I click a link in the menu, it opens the linked project in a new window so that both the menu and the project are playing at the same time. If I could get the links to open in the same window as the menu, I think my problem would be solved. Any suggestions?
