Menubuilder hides captivate project

I have figured out menubuilder from all the response in this forum. I have one more issue. I am preparing standalone .exe's for CD distribution. I need help when launching a Captivate project.exe from the menubuilder.exe there are 2 buttons (2 of 7) that run its corresponding .exe in the back of the menubuilder menu. If I escape out of menubuilder I can see that captivate.exe running. I've tried almost everything and all the projects are published identically.

Also note all the published standalones are in one directory. I the perform an Export standalone from menubuilder into the actual master CD directory.

Does anyone have any ideas I have to ahve this working in a few days.

    Hi All,

I retested, ensuring that only single mouse clicks were used. The results were the same: some of the movies displayed behind the menu (created with MenuBuilder). Since all the movie settings were the same, I'm wondering if this is a MenuBuilder bug.

Here's the workaround I devised. I created the menu in Captivate instead of MenuBuilder, closed the menu when a movie is selected, and added a button to the movie slides that lets the user "Go Back" to the menu (reopens the menu movie) when desired.

I am having the same problem. I am using Captivate 2. In the Button properties dialog box, I set the target movie to appear in the TOP position in all cases. I also deselected Continue Playing Project, which is selected by default.

I am publishing the movies in .exe format. When I run the project, occasionally a movie will display behind the menu. This seems to happen randomly. I am having difficulty troubleshooting because it doesn't occur consistently or with the same move.

I would greatly appreciate any advice or suggestions.

Hi all (and welcome to our community fcap)

When you refer to "Button Properties" are you talking about Captivate or MenuBuilder? I'm guessing Captivate, as MenuBuilder doesn't have buttons to my knowledge.

Is it at all possible that what is happening is a double-click is maybe sometimes being issued? With the first click launching the Captivate movie but the second click bringing focus to the MenuBuilder .EXE (thus placing it in front of the Captivate .EXE)

    Just a thought... Rick

    Rick,

Thanks for the great suggestion. A couple of the performance testers had reported this problem to me, so I'm going to retest with this cause in mind. I'll let you know how it turns out.
