Question

Merge with Background only Covering Half of an Image

I am currently using version 11.5.5. I regularly use Merge With Bakground to overlay images over a background image (to cover mistakes, or  updates to a systemn screenprint) and merge it to background. However, this week I am having an issue where the merge is only covering half of an image. So let's say there's a 2 inch area on the background I want to cover. I create a 3 inch shape and overlay it completely, and merge to the background. Only half of the 2 inch image is covered after the merge. It's driving me crazy. Anyone have any thoughts or fixes?

You are talking in 'inches' which is not very suitable for web images which are in pixels. That may be exactly the cause of your problems. Maybe show some screenshots?

Merging with background is possible on master slides, not on normal slides. Which master slide in which theme are you using?

Inches was used as an example to state that the overlay shape/image was larger than the area to be covered. I don't think that only being able to use Merge with Background on Master sldies is correct. I use them regularly on Project Background slides, and have never had any issue -- same with my co-workers.

Interestingly enough, I found that when you publish and play the course, the merge is showing correctly. However on the Timeline of the slide, it shows as only half covered. A glitch perhaps?

We have terminology issues. You probably are talking about software simulation slides? Those are based on the Blank master slide, and each of the slides is created with a different background. But for normal content slides, merging to background is only possible on master slides.

Timeline of a slide doesn't show images. How does it look when you use F11, Preview HTML in Browser?
