Missing Object State section from Properties panel

Hello; the Object State section (state indication field, + sign, and State View button) is missing from my Properties panel.  This is true for both my working file and when I create a new file and import an image.

Can anyone explain how to get it back?

Thank you very much.

Thank you very much.  I do have CP2017 on my other computer, but not on this client computer.  (sigh...)

We've run the Clean Preferences utility and the Object State section is still missing.  Could someone confirm for me that the Object State (indication field, + sign and Add State button) are included in the Captivate 8 version?

Thanks

Oh no! My bad. Multistate objects were a new feature in Captivate 9. From the original question I assumed wrongly that you had CP9 or CP2017, that the options had disappeared. Normaly I always ask about the version number. Accept my apologies.

Hmmm, are you sure to be on a slide, not on a master slide? You don't have the button State view for objects on a master slide, hence my questiobn.

Yes, I'm in a regular slide.  I recaptured the screenshot to show that I am in the filmstrip and on slide 1.

Thank you very much.

You are in the Expert UI, do you have other workspaces than Classic? If yes, try to switch to another workspace.

If that is not helping, which I fear, you would have to clear the Preferences. If you have Administrator rights, close Captivate, find the subfolder 'utils' under the installation folder, and run the file appropriate for your OS. Beware: you can lose customisation, and will have to indicate again that you want to switch to the expert UI. More info about preserving some custom items in this blog post:
