Missing Table of Contents in Captivate

I am using Captivate 9.0.3 CC version. I am running with the latest version of Microsoft Windows 10 on an MSI System with 32 GB Memory and 4 Terabytes of disk storage. When I select Captivate's project>table of contents I get to the Skin Editor. I have also tried Shift F10 which does nothing. I cannot find any reference to this problem. This can be reliably repeated every time including following reboots. It acts as though the Table of Contents menu item has been deleted. This is  a stock installation of Captivate.

Correct answer Lilybiri

I'm just a user, not working for Adobe at all.

Just double-checked: you are correct that the shortcut key is no longer functional to reach the TOC directly. It is not the only shortcut key that got lost. Because I mostly combine unchecking the playbar and the borders, in the same work flow as creating the TOC, thus using SHIFT-F10, I didn't even realize this shortcut key was lost. I will log a bug, could you do the same?

However when I use the menu itself, it takes me immediately to the third tab in the Skin editor, which is the TOC. It is only the shortcut key that is no longer available.

The version you  mention doesn't exist. Captivate is not part of the Creative Cloud, and the present version is 9.0.2.437.

Are you sure you didn't use two monitors in the past and dragged the dialog for the Skin editor to a second monitor?

Did you try to reset the Workspace? If you are on the newbie UI, you only have the Classic workspace.

When you installed the latest patch (to 9.0.2.437), did you follow the release notes which instructed to Clean the Preferences and to delete the Layouts and Sample Project folders in Public Documents. Anyway I would try to do that now: look in the subfolder 'utils' of the CP installation folder for the win version of CleanPreferences, and run that file. You can also delete the folders in Public Documents (under Adobe\eLearning Assets). This has to be done with CP closed, when you restart it a fresh Preferences folder will be created in your profile and the deleted folders in the Public documents will be restored from the originals.

Hi Lilybiri,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. In my query to Adobe, I mistyped

the version number. It is 9.0.2 and we pay monthly charges to Adobe for

using that version. The version I have does not allow me to get to the

Table of Contents and I cannot enable the software output to be

bookmarkable. ,

The software, I have, claims to be a subscription. I just know that when I

select the Table of contents from the Project menu item, it takes me

directly to the skin editor, every time. The shortcut keys Shift F10 does

nothing. Why not? Do you folks support the version I have? If not who does?

Bill
