Motion Path Flickering

I am working in Captivate 2017 and have noticed every time I use a motion path on the entrance of a shape or text box, they display (or flicker) in their final position before the animation begins. I'm publishing in HTML5 and viewing in both Chrome and IE.  I've seen this issue reported in previous version of Captivate, but I haven't seen a fix.

The effect I am using does fade in while it slides in from the left. It's triggered by an action (see the second screenshot in my second post). The only other "fade in" I am aware of can only be applied on the timeline (fade in only), which does not affect the applied effect triggered by the action. I did try it just in case and it did not work.

Hi, I have understood your scenario even I have faced this issue in captivate 9 project while using effect through action so I did some workaround for this. Try to use 'delay next actions by' after applying effect as shown below. Hope this will help you.

Hi I can see how the advanced action would work when a button is pressed but what about on an automatic timed slide?  I have tried delaying, fading and every way I can think of.  Any suggestions?

The transition with a Fade in effect sometimes works, but is not guaranteed, even in the most recent version (this is an old thread). If you are using a motion path, try to have the start point set that way that the object is barely visible on starting the motion.

You could also use the same advanced (or shared action) On enter for the slide, with another Delay command if you want the effect to start later than at the start frame.

I tried both solutions... great suggestions- each worked-

Thanks again ankits61431843, Lillybiri and JessAdobe!

However, @ Adobe: the time I wasted getting to this point was really aggravating.

Could you please address this? Or let the community know if it has been fixed.

    I'm in version 9;

    Thanks Adobe-for a great product

Here we are in 2023 version 2019 and I'm still seeing the same issue. It would be great if Adobe could fix this issue.

I've tried to submit a bug to Adobe, but I'm taking to an InMoment page and have been unable to gain access.

Well, there are no Effects anymore in CP2023.

I posted a question about the InMoment in the eLearning community. The new version has a Feedback option going to UserVoice but that allows only feature request, no bug reports. It becomes all very confusing now.

The only suggestion that can work is to apply a short fade in transition to

the object. That is my workaround si ce several versions.

Could you please send the screenshot of timeline and stage so that I can help you.

I am seeing this flicker when using effects in two scenarios:

    1. When I am sliding a white box off (I.e. exit effect: fade to right) to reveal an image or text in a layer below it, the object below the white box is visible for a split second before the white box covers it and then fades to the right. This only happens if you have your object on the first second of the timeline. Not a problem to move an object to begin two seconds in, but it's not possible if you are using PowerPoint.

    2. When I am applying an effect using an action. In the example below, Click_Box_5 triggers the "Fly In from Left" effect for the text box labeled, door1. When I click Click_Box_5 in the published version, the text box, door1 pops on screen in it's final position before coming in from the left.

I did find that if I trigger another effect of a white box easing out to the right on a layer above, at the same time the door1 text is flying in, that it stops the flicker, but quite a time consuming work around when you have many of these click-to-reveals!

Did you try the fade in workaround?
