Mouse doesn't show in Software Simulation

I'm just moved to a MacBook Pro using Captivate 9. Attempting to do a Software Simulation, Demo Mode. In the settings I have it set to capture Mouse and Movement. Once recorded though, it doesn't show the Mouse or Movement, just the result of what the mouse does. I can go into the slide, right click and select show mouse but it shows where the mouse has ended, not the movement. I've tried it on both Outlook and Safari with the same thing happening.

Any thoughts on how to fix this?

Thanks

I am having the same issue using Captivate 2017 on Windows. When will this bug be fixed in 2017 version? Is this issue fixed in a newer Captivate version?

Check the full version number, should be 10.0.1.299.

I am having the same issue and it is crippling my business. Please let me know when there is an indication of when this bug will be fixed. It has been a year!

So I had the exact same issue on my iMac 2017. I talked with support and got an unreleased build that fixed the issue. They are coming out with a .1 release that will fix it for laptops and I suppose now will also fix it for anyone having the issue on a desktop. Of course, I have no idea when that release will be.

Same exact problem. The only workaround that works for me is starting with a Blank Project and selecting File-> Record a New...-> Video Demo rather than using Captivate's Record a Software Simulation. Which is not ideal. Sierra has caused trouble for several of my applications.

I am having the exact same issue with Captivate not capturing my mouse on the Mac no matter what I do. I have the checkbox selected for "Show Mouse Location and Movement". I have tried a variety of different options: 1. what I'm recording: recording using (a) "Screen Area" using custom size, (b) "Screen Area" using full screen, (c) Application using Firefox as the app, (d) application using Safari as the app, (e) application using Microsoft Word as the app.  I have checked accessibility options to ensure that the Mac is allowing Captivate to capture. I have tried "Demo" mode, I have tried clicking all the modes. I have tried "no panning" and "automatic panning". Nothing works.

Just to clarify, the problem has nothing to do with output or publishing. It is when you initially do the capture. Captivate does not add the mouse into your captures. It is like the mouse does not exist and the screens magically change before you. It also puts all the caption boxes in the upper left hand corner. It is as if Captivate does not know that mouse is clicking on a certain location.

This is the exact issue I'm having. Still no solution.

If I ask what output was used it is that apparently other person had this kind of problem on mac Captivate 9 won't publish with mouse object on slide

No matter,   here as Tom has says it is not a problem of output but probably a bad configuration,

so Tom, be sure the "Show mouse location and movement" is check in recording mode configuration (Himanshu capture's)...

And maybe try to put manually a new mouse on your capture to see what happened. (By the way, please remove the horrible sound of the mouse or change it for a more discret).

    Have a nice day!

I told that Output was not important because the OP said that the mouse object is not appearing....

    Hi,

Can you check under Adobe Captivate > Preferences > Modes, if the Show mouse Location and Movement is checked or not.

If it was not checked during the recording then you won't see the mouse movements . You will have to rerecord after having that option checked

    Regards

    Himanshu

Is your outpout swf or HTML5?

The output is set for HTML5 - but even before preview/publish,  the mouse is not showing during the editing phase on the slideshow.

Output is not important AFAIK. You don't see the mouse object on the stage? Are you sure to have chosen Demo mode? Was the application you recorded a web-based application?

Why do you mention Outlook in your question? Safari is a browser, but Outlook is a mail client. Did you try to use another browser?

I've also rebooted and created a new preferences folder - still have the same issue
