Mouse timing in Cap 9

This one is weird - and I will try to explain it as well as I can:

  • I am using Cap 9 64-bit - ver 9.0.0.223.
  • I am shooting a Software Simulation, with a Custom type - although I think this also happens with "Demo" type.
  • I am also recording audio, which I edit after-the-fact in Cap.
  • On longer slides (20 seconds or so), when I edit the audio down so it only takes about 5 seconds, I then shrink the slide length to correspond.

BOOM!   At this point, the mouse (which originally was at the END of the slide) jumps to the beginning.  If I try to drag it to the end, it snaps back to the beginning.

Weirder still - if I try to get around this by telling the mouse to "show for rest of slide" and then shrink it to the appropriate length, it does not move to the right spot but rather stops part of the way through its intended path.

The ONLY work-around I have found is - after the mouse snaps back to the beginning, I have it "show for rest of slide", then shrink it to the appropriate length but leave it at the BEGINNING.  At this point, if I preview the movie, and confirm that it moves all the way to the spot it is supposed to hit.  I am then able (after previewing) to move the mouse to the END of the slide and have it work fine.  (Don't ask me how I came up with that solution.)

I have noticed this does not happen on EVERY slide, but I cannot get through a 10-15 slide demonstration including lengthy audio without it happening several times.

Has anyone heard of anything like this?

Chris
