Multiple failure captions

Is it possible to have multiple failure captions appear from clicking on one hotspot? I would like to have a different failure caption popup for each unsuccessful attempt. For example:

attempt 1: "Sorry, please try again"
attempt 2: " try clicking in the menu"
attempt 3 "over here"...with an arrow pointing to the area.

I can do this with a different slide for each but I would like to see if it is possible to do it on one slide.

Thanks in advance

    Hi Jay

Sorry, but there is no way to check the Question without asking the user to invoke Submit. If you are using Captivate 3, you should be aware that one is capable of assigning a shortcut key to the Submit button. So perhaps you may wish to assign the Enter key there.

Question slides don't have to be scored. You may disable scoring if you like.

Indeed this is possible. But only with Question slides. You cannot accomplish it with Click Boxes or Buttons as you can with Question Slides. For Question Slides, what you do is to configure multiple attempts. Once you do this, you configure the Failure Levels. You may have up to three failure levels.

With Click Boxes or Buttons, you will need to be creative and create multiple slides.

You may wish to suggest to the development team that it would be nice for Click Boxes and Buttons to have a similar feature to Question Slides. You do this via the Wish Form.

ok.. so I created a question slide and it is "almost" what I'm trying to do. Is it possible to verify the user's input without having to click on the submit button. Also, I do not need it to be tracked or scored. I just need a few incorrects before we outright tell the user what to do.
I hope you can shed some light on this for me.

    Thanks again, Jay
