Question

Multiple SWF files in Project

I'm a newbie to Captivate. I have created a few projects previously, but my current one required scrolling during recording and therefore, I suppose, live motion animation sections. When I published the project it created the standard HTML, SWF, and JS files, but it also created additional SWF files for each live motion bit. Is there any way I can publish or export this project so it creates just one SWF? I am posting these to a website I I would like to uplload and manage just one file.

Thanks.

    Hi there

Indeed there is a way, but it's rather convoluted at first blush.

Note that all credit for the steps I'm about to share goes to fellow Adobe Certified Instructor and Adobe Community Expert John Daigle.

    1. Publish your content. This much you seem to have already done. But if you didn't publish using Flash 7 as the target version, Publish again and ensure Flash 7 is the target.
    2. Edit the project and note each Camcorder icon in the film strip. Click to select that slide and insert a blank slide. Then configure the timing for the blank slide to identically match the one with the Camcorder icon.
    3. Click Insert > Animation and navigate to where you published. Insert the corresponding Full Motion clip.
    4. Delete the slide with the original Full Motion clip.
    5. Rinse and repeat steps 2 and 3 for all slides with Camcorder icons.
    6. Publish again. Again, ensure you target Flash 7.

    Cheers... Rick

Thanks for sharing. I am having the same problem and am hoping this solution solves my problem as well! I will let you know!

This solution worked great. Just keep in mind that if you have added audio, you will not only need to set the time, you will also need to extend the animation time so that the image doesn't disappear before the coiceover completes.

I am still having a problem with my end resul, however. I have published a skin with a nav bar and if I link to that, nothing shows. If I link to the published swf, the project plays but there are no controls. I would like to have both. Any suggestions?
