Multiple Text Entry Boxes With One Submit Button

Hi All,

I'm using Captivate 8 and want to create a slide that includes 3 text entry boxes, but I only need one submit button for that is clicked once the user has added text to each of the boxes.

Upon searching this, I found a blog post from 2011 on this very topic. The post uses an example SWF and explains the Variables and Advanced Actions required, but as a bit of a newbie to Captivate I found it a little difficult to follow. I was hoping for a guide that would walk me through the steps from start to finish.

As this post was from 2011, I'm wondering if there's any additional functionality in Captivate 8 that would allow a more streamlined workflow for multiple TEB's?

Also, does anyone know of any helpful guides that would help?

Thanks,

Ross

You are pointing to my blog post.  Sorry that it is too complicated, many users found it useful. But if you want to run a marathon before exercising

Nothing has changed concerning TEB's in CP8. Everything on my blog is for free, I doubt you'll find another resource for this specific problem.

Thanks Lilybiri, there's nothing wrong with your blog post. It's very useful, it's more down to the fact I'm just getting started with Captivate 8 and it would seem that this functionality requires an intermediate/advance skill level and I'm not quite there yet. With a bit of practice using Advanced Actions and Variables in Captivate, I will hopefully find the post becomes a bit clearer.

I presumed that this problem was more common that it is, so thought that there might be a few more resources on this topic.

I'll perhaps just try to follow the post the best I can and post on the forum if/when I run into problems.

Thanks

There is an e-book about the topic of Captivate Advanced Actions:

Master the Art of Captivate's Advanced Actions | Infosemantics Pty Ltd

Though this book only currently covers up to Captivate 7, there were no significant changes to the functionality in Cp8.

You'll be happy to know that the book comes with sample CPTX files for different versions of Captivate, and there is a section that shows how to do more or less exactly what you describe above with multiple Text Entry boxes validated by Advanced Actions triggered using a single submit button,
