My first movie won't work on the web

I can't get my movie to play on the web, so I am hoping Rick or someone has a solution! Here is my situation:

I made sure the export was compatible with Flash v.9
All files are in the web folder: demo.htm, demo.swf, demo_Fullmotion7.dwf, demo_Fullmotion8.swf, demo_skin.swf, standard.js.

In Firefox, I get just a white screen with a grayed out navigational bar at the bottom
In IE, it starts downloading and stops at 18%
My webserver is linux and we are alrady running flash content elsewhere on it
I transferred ther files over in ascii, not binary

Here's the link:
http://libsys.uah.edu/library/demo/demo.htm

The swf file package will play locally on different PCs, just not on the web

So with all that in mind, what am I doing wrong? This was my first movie, and I was planning to share it with colleagues for criticism. This has got me baffled!

Thanks for any suggestions.

David

Hi David

I think in this case I might suggest trying this. Create a very simple Captivate that is a blank movie with perhaps three slides. Just place a caption on each slide. Then publish that, copy to the server and observe the behavior.

This may provide some clues as to what could be happening to you here.

Isn't detective work fun?

Cheers... Rick

Well, I tried a 2 slide movie, but still the same results. In Firefox, the message in the bottom left is "read libsys.uah.edu" but it doesn't say that in IE. In IE it's just a white screen with the Captivate navigational bar at the bottom.

I plan to ask around at work on Monday, and keep the detective work up until then!

OK, it turns out it had to do with security settings that my systems administrator had placed on the server, and nothing to do with Captivate. I moved the files to a different server and it is working just fine.
