Question

Narration audio file type for fast forward

I want the viewers of my Captivate presentations to be able to fast forward and also hear the narration at increased speed. When I have used MP3 files in the past, the narration goes silent during fast forward. Do I need to use a different file type? Or is there some other factor I need to know about?

I'm thinking this would be very difficult. I can get the playback rate of the audio object but cannot override what is going on in CP Audio Manager.

It is definitely possible if CP is not playing the audio (html5 audio) as you can monitor CP's FPS and adjust the audio playback rate accordingly.

Does anyone have an answer? I have viewed movies in Coursera courses where I could fast-forward and continue to hear the audio which was also accelerated. Can I make that happen using Captivate?

I've never seen this done in Captivate.  There is a Fast Forward button that you can activate on some playbar skins via a checkbox on the Skin Editor, but in my experience it's not going to do what you want.  In fact it never seems to do anything other than switch OFF the audio for me.

So I'm not seeing any obvious way to do what you want.
