Narration audio keeps playing, but screen doesn't progress?

Hello! I'm using updated Captivate 9.

I have a single narration audio file on each screen, with the audio attached to the slide (not attached to an object). There is a Next button, with an activated Pause function, on each screen. This has worked perfectly okay in the past but now I am getting a problem. I have tried multiple Pause buttons on the same screen, and the problem still occurs.

When I use preview, or view the published presentation (tested with both *.exe and html), at the end of each screen the presentation will pause and then the audio for the next slide automatically starts playing. The visual remains the same. The navigation buttons work properly (for example, if I click Next the screen advances, and the proper audio starts).

Example: Screen 1 plays. Presentation pauses briefly at the end of Slide 1. Audio for Slide 2 automatically starts playing. If I click Next, Slide 2 starts, and the audio for Slide 2 starts from the start. If I wait to the end of Slide 2, the presentation pauses for a moment and then I hear the audio for Slide 3.

A twist!! If I attach the audio to an object on the slide, it works "normally". This is an okay workaround, but I can't function that way 100% for audio in the future.

Thanks for any ideas!

Slide audio doesn't pause automatically when a pausing point of an interactive object is stopping the slide progress, you have to check this under the Options tab:

As for the overlapping audio: leave a small gap before and after the audio clip on the slide, it shouldn't start at the beginning of the slide, nor end with the last frame.

Hello!

Thank you for the help! Your suggestions seems to make it work! Hooray!

I am still confused, because I have never used that audio option before, and this is the first time I have had this issue.

Regardless, it works! Thanks!!!
