Question

Navigation Bars in Embedded SWFs

I have a Captivate file that is sized the way I want it.
Because an app that I am demoing needs to be recorded full screen I record it that way separately and then resize the project, publish to a swf and insert it into my Captivate file.

This works fine except for one thing: users cannot then use the navigation bar at the bottom of the page to pause the demo as it plays.

So I tried adding a nav bar to the recorded demo itself, which seemed as though it would work (albeit this is not that elegant as I then had to explain to the user WHICH navbar to use to pause the demo and which one to use to pause the module.)

However, when I publish the completed Captivate module (containing the embedded swfs) the nav bar changes to a style and location I did not choose. (Instead of being on the bottom right and containing on 3 buttons for example, it somehow morphed into a top stretch all buttons showing nav bar.)

Is this a known bug? Are there any work arounds?

Thanks in advance,

Thanks for trying John, but that has no affect. The nav bar at the bottom of my screen can not control the inserted swf.

    Anybody else have any ideas?

Have you tried inserting your demo without a navbar but set it to "Synchronize with project" in Captivate?

I would hope that would make it respond to commands from the playbar buttons of the parent project.

Then again, I've never been clear what "Synchronize with project" really does for an inserted animation...
