Question

Navigation page or TOC or...?

I'm seeking some guidance, maybe someone knows of a blog or other tutorial. I'm fairly new to anything very advanced in Captivate 7. But I have an idea that I believe is possible, I just don't know how to search for it.

I have a 50-some slide training. I have it divided into six sections. I would like one landing page that the user can navigate from. What I'd like to see is the user get to this landing page, click on one option, view the material in that one option, and when it's done, go BACK to the nav page. Now, that nav page has the one option they clicked on greyed out (or something like that) and they can click on another...and so on until all six are greyed out and they now have an option to continue to the summary slides.

Is this even possible? Is there anywhere I can learn how?

THANKS!

Are you looking for something like in the example movie here:

Captivate 8 - First Adventures - Captivate blog

The work flow could be applied with greying out as well. However it is always very important to mention the version of Captivate you are using? If it is Captivate 9, I would use states instead of what I did in Captivate 8. I should write a new blog post.

Yes! This is just what I'm looking to do! I stated in my OP, I'm using Captivate 7. I see this was created in 8. Do you know if it's still possible in 7?

Yes, it will also be possible in 7, but the shared actions are more limited there because variables cannot be parameters. You can use duplicate advanced actions if you want instead of the shared actions. The logic is the same.

I wrote my first blog post about such a dashboard for CP4 and 5:

Template for reusing script? - Captivate blog

Sorry, but the templates cannot be required anymore.
