Need Arial Black 11 point font for Captivate 5 Closed-Captioning

Template provided for a project was created in Captivate 4, and apparently used Arial Black 11 pt. font for closed-captioning. That template is rendered in Captivate 5 as plain Arial 11 pt. (without comment) and that is the way I have used it to create some 30 video tutorials. It is not acceptable, because the original template used Arial Black 11 pt. and other developers are using Captivate 4 (in which Arial Black is apparently an available font). I have more than a month of development work being returned because there is no Arial Black font in Captivate 5, and I was unaware of the issue until an hour ago.

Can I download an Arial Black font for Captivate 5, and, if so, from where and how?

Any other suggestions, ideas, or workarouds would be deeply appreciated.

Thanks,

tekwrytr

    Welcome to our community

I saw you cross posted to a different forum category. I have since deleted that thread. We do ask that you post any question only once in what appears to be the most appropriate forum category.

To the best of my knowledge Captivate of any version will simply offer the fonts available on your PC. However, I just looked at my own setup and I see that I have Arial Black available to me when I'm editing via Microsoft Word, but not in Captivate 5. Very odd.

I know that when Adobe reconstructed Captivate for version 5, they changed the manner in which text is rendered. So I'm guessing that this has something to do with why this font doesn't appear. I'm not sure how many others are affected.

I would highly encourage you to report this as a bug. You may not hear anything back from Adobe but it's possible that you will see a reply from one of the developers.

Best of luck to you... Rick

Sorry about the cross posting. I tried exporting the closed-captioning to Word to format, then imported back to Captivate. Word has Arial Black, but Captivate ignores the format change when imported back into Captivate.

Best guess at the moment is that I am going to have to buy Captivate 4, open the Captivate 5 files in Captivate 4 (if this is even possible), and make the changes in Captivate 4. Does anyone know if Captivate 4 will open .cptx files?

    Hello again

Sorry, but Captivate is only forward compatible. And with Version 5, I don't think you can even copy slides and objects and paste into Captivate 4. You used to be able to revert that way, but I think they changed things so it no longer works.

Please file a Bug Report on it.

    Cheers... Rick
