Need help in migration issue

We have a course developed in Captivate 8 and published for SCORM 1.2. The course is hosted in CornerStone LMS. Now for some issues we had to republish the course in Captivate 2017 with all the content being the same. Now as the course was live and users had their data (including bookmarking data) in the LMS we tried to just overwrite the files with Captivate 2017 course files. Now users are unable to run the course. Is there any way where we can migrate the captivate 8 course to captivate 2017 course while being able to use the existing data in the LMS?.

If your project was originally in Captivate 8 and you've upgraded to Captivate 2017, but you are publishing as HTML5, then you may not be aware that late in Captivate 9 versions a change was made to publishing that now includes JSON files in the output.  However, it's quite possible your LMS web server is not set up to allow the JSON mimetype.  \

So as Lilybiri suggested, if you are publishing to HTML5, you'll need to talk to your LMS server people and get them to configure the server to allow JSON files.  Otherwise the content will not work.

I think this is something to discuss with the LMS people....
