Need help making MP4 video fit in published slide

I have an MP4 video that I'm importing into a Captivate 8 slide. The Video was originally a Powerpoint with a Webinar that was then saved as an MP4.  I've tried various settings but when I preview the results it seems that some "slides" in the video don't quite fit (see image -- title gets cut off), and the window doesn't size. Any tricks for making this fit?

HI Joe,

I think you are misunderstanding. But I understand your problem now.

When you import your video into Captivate it will overly on your stage, if its bigger than your stage it will only publish what is in the stage. To fix it, hold shift and grab the corner in Captivate, and resize it so it matches the stage size. Publish it and it should all be good.

Cheers,

OOOOOOHHHHHH!!!! Light bulbs flashing! Yeah, that does it. You're my hero. THANKS!

Hi Joe,

OK, so now we have ruled that out. It should scale. (Shift and then grab the corner with your mouse) Does that not work for you?  If not are you importing  it as an Event video or a multi-slide synchronized video? Also is it a responsive project or a standard one?

Cheers,

Hi Steve,

Thanks for sticking with me. The thing is, can't seem get corner "grabbers" to display with the mouse. I just don't get features for resizing the window. Maybe a browser thing? (I think I'm launching into Chrome). Tried "Shift-grabbing" too (as you suggested (hadn't thought of that), but still get nothing. I've tried both "Event" and "multi-slide sync" and gotten the same result.

As for "responsive" vs "standard", beats me. How can I tell?

Thanks again,

Joe

Hi,

The issue is probably with the video itself, not Captivate. I would check the video, independent of Captivate and check those spots specifically to see if they are native to the video. If so, there is not much you can do.

Thanks for the reply. The video runs just fine in Windows Media Player. The issue seems to be that I can't size the window when I run the preview from Captivate.
