Need help with adapting Captivate interactions

As somewhat of a novice Captivate 9 user, I am trying to use the Learning Interactions. I'm frustrated because I cannot seem to modify them so they look even close to good. For example, when using the Memory Game, my content has strange wraps and breaks from line to line. I cannot resize the text to fit the memory cards or resize the cards or even the playing area so it is appropriate. Any suggestions? I also need to customize a Certificate of Completion and am needing help with doing so and adding it to my quiz. Any and all advice will be welcome. I'd really like to take my Captivate projects to the next level.

"For example, when using the Memory Game, my content has strange wraps and breaks from line to line. "

It's a bit of a leap, this part of your problem can be caused by copying/pasting from a Word doc." Copying from Word inserts hidden characters that are known to choke Captivate.

You may be able to resolve this by opening the XML file in notepad, or BBedit on the Mac, saving as to a new file name and select UTF-8 encoding, not ANSI.

Worst case, copy all the text from Word to a text file (notepad, or BBedit), revert  back to the Cp Glossary sample XML file and copy and paste directly from the text file.

This issue has caused me numerous challenges, and will occur when copying and pasting from Word to captions, objects, quiz questions and /  or glossary entries!

Can you provide some more information? Which version of CP are you using (exact number please)? Are you talking about a normal (blank) or a responsive project? How did you test? For a normal project: will you publish to SWF or HTML?

The CP version is V 9.02.437.

Right now the Memory Game is a normal project. I’m intending to transfer it to responsive and will publish to HTML5 and it will reside in Captivate Prime.

I’ve tested it at my desktop before publishing it. Also, when I’ve published to Captivate Prime it is all distorted and looks horrible.

I did find information and made a bit of progress with it when I used the “Refresh Widget” option as I edited the game board. But still, when published to Prime, it doesn’t look like it should or when I tested it outside of Prime.

Maybe you should ask this question in the Prime forum, if you are sure everything is working fine when Previewing in Captivate. Did you test with Edge Inspect on devices? Are you sure that all breakpoint views have been set up correctly? Did you use a Responsive theme, not the theme from the normal project?
