Question

Need to click twice to Apply Effect in Advanced Actions - can I change this?

Hello!

I am working on a Captivate file and I have an Apply Effect in Advanced Actions. I somehow have to click the button twice to get the element to show, even when I have "double click" unchecked in Timing.

Can this be changed or do I really have to click twice?

Please advise, thank you all!

    Hello,

were you able to resolve your issue about having to click twice on the smart shape (or click box) twice in order to see the effect on another object?

I'm facing the same issue. I first used smart shape and made it transparent to cover the image beneath. On readin several posts from Lilybiri I changed it to a click box. But the problem still remains. Whether a smart shape or a cick box, I have to click it twice in order to see the effect on another object ir triggers. Please advise. Thanks!

I think I just recently had the same problem as you with having to click the clickbox twice to show an effect applied via advanced actions.

My setup was that I had a shape hidden.  A clickbox would then trigger an advanced action which would apply the effect (StretchFromTop) to the shape.  This only worked if you clicked the clickbox twice.

In order to fix the behaviour I added the Show action to the shape before applying the effect.

So the advanced action is Show the shape then Apply Effect, rather than just Apply Effect.

    Hopefully that helps.

No, this is not normal. You have to give more details, maybe screenshot of

    timeline, advanced action. Wgich effect?

Hi Lily, here it is: action and timeline. The effect is Faded Zoom In

Which button is triggering this action? I see 3 shape buttons on the timeline, starting at different points. Two of those buttons have an effect applied to them. Timeline is not complete in the screenshot: do those buttons have a pausing point? If yes, where are they?
