NeoSpeech voices in Captivate - need help installing

I have recently purchased Captivate 7. I have downloaded each of the items on the downloads page and 'extracted' them as indicated by the prompts. I have tried to install the NeoSpeech voices again and again, without success. These are all the folders and files I now have:

  • Adobe Captivate 7
  • Adobe eLearning Assets
  • Cp7_win_assets_installer
  • Cp7_win64_voices_installer
  • NeoSpeech Voices (64 Bit)
  • Captivate_7_x64_Neo_Content_LS21.7z (and 'application' by the same file name)

Please tell me what I need to do to to be able to use the NeoSpeech voices. At the moment, only a Microsoft voice is available in the TTS function.

Installation was easy and straightforward.

Hello!

Run the Captivate_7_x64_Neo_Content_LS21.exe with Run as Admin.

It will install Neo speech voices.

Make sure that you have closed captivate while installing them.

Will neospeech work the same (enter them same way) in Captivate 7?  Are there any  other text to speech voices you recommend?

Captivate 7 works the same way. However, if you are on 64-bit system and use NeoSpeech user dictionary, you should be aware of one bug.

When you run UserDicEng_<VoiceArtist>, it crashes with an error message. The workaround for that can be found in:

To the best of my knowledge, Captivate 7 doesn't support any other voices other than NeoSpeech.

I haven't used Captivate 7. But this solutions works with Captivate 6, so it may be worth trying.

If you are seeing the VT folder in your Captivate installation directory (under Program Files),

  1. Rename the preferences folder, "Captivate 6.0" as "Captivate 6.0_1234" in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Adobe.
  2. Run Adobe Captivate as an administrator and you should see NeoSpeech voices in the list.

If you don't have the VT folder, restart your computer and install the NeoSpeech again. This solves the problem sometimes.
