Question

No access to the assets (blank screen)

Hi all,

we have installed Capitvate 9 64-bit on Windows 7.

We have the issue, that when you click on the "Assets"-Button, there is only a blank screen shown.

It might be a problem with our proxy or firewall settings. I found a similar problem in the discussions, but there was no solution so far.

The question is, if some special ports in the firewall have to be opened to allow the communication with elearning brothers.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Best regards

Gerrit

Understand for the Output, but why do you speak about it, because your problem is to dowload assets from elearning brother ^^

So... I hope your update will correct your issue.

In an other case, try to connect in an other location to have access to assets, then copy and paste the one you need on your work station.

    Hi Chris,

I spoke about the output in answer to the post of Lilybiri ("IE9 is not scoring very well for HTML5, suggest you keep to SWF output (interactive) in that case, or MP4 (non-interactive).")

But you are right, my problem is indeed to access the assets from the elearing brothers, because our proxy seems to block it.

I opened a case at our network team to check, if there is any chance to pass the proxy without authentification from captivate.

Otherwise I will indeed try to open the program in an other location and copy the files from this place.

In our system the IE9 is set as default browser. And there is also no way to change it. This must be done by administration.

Sure, this must be due to the firewall: try to persuade the IT-people to add the eLearning Brothers website to the trusted websites.

    Hello,

That's strange, do you try to go directly on the elearning borther website: https://member.elearningbrothers.com/

Do you try with a low proxy protection?

Could you take a snapshot of your screen?

The direct link to the website works fine.

For me it`s not possible to change the proxy-settings. These settings are deployed by our network-team.

Also the geofication is not working in Captivate.

I did a short test with the colleagues from network-team:

Our proxy-server needs an authentification. We suggest, that captivate opens the web-connection and is getting to the point, where the authentification must be done. But there is no pop-up or anything else, where the authentification could be done. So at this point, there is no further action and the blank screen remains. For testing the network-team disabled the authentification-procedure and after this, the screen appeared in Captivate directly. After changing back to the authentification-procedure, the screen is again blank.

In Captivate I also found no setting, where I can set up the proxy-authentification credentials.

The screen that appears is attatched.

Geolocation will certainly be disabled in your network. It should work if you try a published CP file on your phone or tablet, outside of the over-protected noetwork.
