No audio on published HTML file - new version of Captivate

I created a training with audio files. The audio files play just fine when I preview the course from within Captivate. However, when I click "publish" and then try to view the training by double-clicking on the index.html file, there is no audio. I have also tried send this to other people, and they cannot hear it either. Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong?

Captivate's published HTML content is like a website. You need to upload it to a webserver or a LMS, depending on the publish settings: if you activated Reporting under Quiz Preferences, you need a LMS.

Free publishing of a non-reporting output is possible on AWS or in the eLearning community. For a reporting output you can use SCORM Cloud which allows free posting within some limits. You need to provide the URL. Only immediately after publishing will it be possible to have a local view without issues. Did you try that local view?

Thank you for the reply! I am interested in sharing the content with reporting activated, so the SCORM Cloud option may be best. Do you know of a resource with instructions on how to do so?

HTML5 content needs to be delivered from a web server environment.  When you do a Preview as HTML from Captivate it will show you the output from a localhost web server.  However, when you publish out to HTML5 and navigate to the index.html file separately there is no web server.  Sending people the content and telling them to launch the index file also will not result in full playback.  If you want other people to view your content you need to either upload it to a web server and send them a link or else configure the output for SCORM and upload the package to your LMS so that they can access it from there.
