No docking stations, resetting to Classic not working

I opened captivate 8 and all my panels- timeline, filmstrip- were stacked in the upper left corner. Tried setting to Export mode, unchecking expert mode, deleting the Captivate 5 folder in my C drive, resetting to Classic workspace, pulling the panels to their normal docking areas but the blue line and gray bar never appear. Have no idea what else to try but can't work with it as is! If anyone has suggestions, I'd appreciate it!

Close Captivate. ,Look in the subfolder 'Utils' under the installation folder of Captivate. You'll have to run the file CleanPreferences that is suited for your OS. Restart Captivate and a new Preferences folder will be created.

When you say clean the Preferences, you mean go through and check all of the settings? or is there a Clean feature I am unaware of?

That was it. I am sorry, I thought you meant something else with cleaning the preferences. Thank you so much!!!

Try to clear the cache and to clean the Preferences. I suppose you already relaunched Captivate and your system?

Yes I relaunched and cleared cache. The preferences are what I had last time I used this and the panels were all docked properly. I know I have accidentally undocked them before and was able to re-dock, but this time the docking areas seem to be missing.

Did you clean the Preferences again, if not, please do so.

SInce you are talking about undocking, you are using the Expert UI, correct?  Do you not have any custom workspace?
