Question

No matter how many times I create and save a Skin profile (CC and TOC settings) it gets reset with next project.

I even changed the Default Skin thinking that this would save it as the default setting.

In particular the Font and  # of lines for CC settings always defaults to TNR 14 with 3 lines.

What am I missing.

Also, I want to have a "One Click" template since absolutely EVERY project I do for current client has EXACT same parameters.
But... since I always start from PPT that is created first I don't know how to assign a theme after the fact.
I can create and save the theme but don't see an option to "Apply Saved Theme".

Appreciate any help.

Point me to a tutorial or section in the Adobe Captivate HELP if I am missing something already well covered.

Thanks, Ken

Which version are you using, please?

Skin is part of the theme, as are the master slides and object styles. If you save a custom theme, it will appear in the list with themes and you can apply it to any project.

Preferences can be set for all future projects, before opening any project from the Edit menu.

You can create a template, it will have Preferences, a theme (that you can change), but you'll have to open each project based from that template. That is different from a theme, which can always be changed after the facts.

Hi Lilybiri,

Thanks for the reply.

I am using C8

I am able to create a Template and use it but since all of my projects start out as PPTXs I was trying to set up the skin details such as CC/TOC settings in a theme and apply them.

I thought that this would simply be a matter of changing the default theme... but every time i start with Create from PowerPoint it defaults back to the old CC/ TOC settings.

I can always start from template and then import the PPTX slides but it seems like an unnecessary step.

CC settings are not part of a theme, you can try to do that in the template. Skin is part of the theme, but did you save the theme?

If you want to use a template, you have to start from a project based on that template and import the slides.

This is a first post about Theme colors, maybe you'll find something about saving the theme. I'm busy with a second article.
