Question

No more mouse click sounds in Captivate 5

Has anyone had the experience where suddenly the mouseclick sounds in a cp5 project stop working?

I am well into a project and have had the mouse click sounds all along.  Now suddenly there is no sound in either preview or publishing.

If I click the play button in the properties panel, I still hear it.  And I can browse to where it sits on the hard drive and it's still there.

But nothing when I actually play the file.  Even all the prior pages that had mouse clicks are now silent.

All other sounds are working.

Also tried clearing the cache, creating a new blank project and adding mouse movements and clicks.

But no luck there either.  It's like captivate forgets where the mp3 is when I preview or publish.

Any help would be appreciated.

Also, I'm on windows xp sp3.

I have recently encountered this problem in Captivate 5.5. However, I can't even get the work around to work. Has there been any update to this issue?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I have finally deleted the "click Sound" file but when I have updated the

software, I could finally access to the mouse properties (only works

    sometimes) and remove the sound:

In order to update the software:" Help" and then "update"

If you want to delete the Click Sound

You click on your program files and then "Adobe Captivate 5"

    Then "Gallery"

    You also click on "Mouse"

And I have deleted this file:

    Hi,

Can someone tell me how to access to the mouse options in Captivate 5? I tried in clicking on the icon mouse in a slide, and then I went to properties, but I can't find the    options menu...

Is there another way to access to the mouse options?

    Thanks

Select the Mouse layer in the timeline, go to Properties tab > Options.

Sometimes the mouse click sounds become detached from the mouse and you need to manually go in and select the sound again.  Click the folder icon indicated above and navigate to the Click Sounds folder to select the appropriate sound file.

    Thanks Rod,

I actually had to manually go in the Click Sounds folder.

    Hi There,

I am wondering if you could share a file that has your issue. If yes, then please upload it on acrobat.com and share the link with me at maanand@adobe.com

    Manish,

Created a new blank project and added a mouse click.

Uploaded and shared/sent to your email.

I can send you my real file afterwards if this is not a good example.
    thanks

I am experiencing this problem as well, however I can not figure out the workaround that was mentioned.  How can I get the button to link back to the sound file again?

    Any help is greatly appreicated!

    Thanks

Select the mouse object on a slide, and in the Properties > Options accordion click the small folder icon.

When the Open dialog appears, navigate to the Adobe > Captivate 5 >Gallery >Mouse > Click Sounds folder and select the appropriate mouse click or double mouse click sound.

I have seen this too, but I haven't so far found a fix for it.

I usually have to resort to going into the properties of each mouse click and point it to the sound file again.

I agree this shouldn't be necessary, but that's the only workaround I've found so far.

    Thanks Rod.

Yeah that's been my workaround for now too.
