Question

No option for answer feedback in CP 8

Hi,

Has anyone successfully created incorrect/correct answer feedback in a question pool in CP 8? I cannot find the option to do so anywhere. I have checked the Properties tab, and nothing is there. It only allows me to transform the answer and doesn't show anything about adding feedback options. I see no advanced question options whatsoever. Do I need to change a quiz setting to enable this? I can't for the life of me figure out why it's not showing up.

Help!

Thanks!

Advanced Answer options, which exists only for MCQ with one correct answer are available for normal questions but not for random questions.

You can set number of attempts, raise failure captions and add caption per attempt. You have the success caption as well, Retry if necessary. Problem is that all those captions are in the same location and do not have a separate timeline, you have to move a caption to see the ones hidden behind them. Better practice is first to set up the question master slides properly before creating a question pool.

Lilybiri,

Unfortunately, I cannot get this to work even with a single MCQ. Even when I insert a new question it doesn't show me this option. Why would you be unable to create advanced captions in a pool? This should work exactly the same as any other MCQ except CP pulls random slides. Again, even if I do not use a random question from a pool, I do not have this option. I am at my wits end. The question pool option is pretty much useless. Hasn't Adobe figured out how these things yet? Ridiculous. It makes the entire option worthless. As an ID, I have no way to provide feedback in a pool!? That is beyond idiotic, nay, it's counterproductive, and makes no sense.

Thanks for your reply, though! If you have any other ideas I would certainly appreciate them. I have even tried clearing cache and workspace and started a new project from scratch. I still have no such advanced option regardles of question type.

OK, wasn't the newbie UI meant to be more intuitive? It is certainly not in this case. The work flow is the same as in previous versions, but you are missing the so useful Quizzing workspace of course since workspaces are considered too complicated. Sorry for my cynical ranting. In the Quizzing workspace (which I recreated immediately in Expert UI) you have both the Quizzing and the Properties panel visible at once.

To have an Advanced Answer option, only for MCQ, one correct answer: select an answer, go to the Properties panel (not the Quizzing panel) and you'll see 'Advanced Answer' option that you can check. Since you can have individual actions for each answer, I suspect that is the reason why you cannot use it with a Question pool. Example: action for one answer will be to navigate to another content slide, how will you do that in a question pool?

For all questions you still have the Failure/Success captions (or shapes if you preferred them) for which you can change the content.
