Normal text in text caption

Hi

I have an irritating problem which I can't seem to solve?

When I have a text caption with a few sentences/paragraphs it looks fine in Captivate - however, when I preview or publish the line spacing goes funny with for instance the second line of a sentence seems to jump down a line?

i.e. this is the sentence:

"A Service Call is created by the Service Desk or support team. After the Service Call is created, it is regularly updated with information to answer the question or to solve the Customer’s issue.

The status of a Service Call reflects the lifecycle of a Service call between being created and being resolved".

The above is correct.

However, during preview it appears:

"A Service Call is created by the Service Desk or support team. After the Service Call is created, it is regularly

updated with information to answer the question or to solve the Customer’s issue.
The status of a Service Call reflects the lifecycle of a Service call between being created and being resolved."

Sorry if I haven't explained this too well.

Does anyone have an answer to what may be a simple question?

Thanks in advance.

John

    Hi John

My thought is that perhaps you have managed to configure a large line spacing. In case that's it, here is how you should be able to change or correct it.

Edit the caption and select all the text. Then click the Line Spacing icon and choose 1.0.

    Hi Rick

Thanks for that - tried it but no difference unfortunately.

    Hmmm - strange one this.

    Hi again

Okay, another thought occurs here. Maybe some odd (and invisible) character is getting things off. So perhaps try the following.

Edit the caption, select all the text in it and copy it to the Windows clipboard.
    Delete the caption.
Open Microsoft Notepad and paste in there.
Select all the text in Notepad and copy it from there back to the Windows clipboard.
Insert a new caption and paste the text.

Copying things to the clipboard normally strips any odd (and invisible) formatting characters, leaving behind only text. So my thought is that if an odd character is the culprit, the steps I outlined may correct the issue.

Good luck in sorting it! Rick
