Not capturing roll over menus

Hi,

I just started using captivate today and my first assignment was to do a quick instructional video to show users how to navigate our website. However when I veiwed my recording afterwards the roll over menus were not visible. The root of the menu was visible but none of the other levels after that. Any ideas why this is happening? Thanks

    Hi,

    Thanks for such a prompt response, using a combination of both methods I got what I was looking for! By enabling the option labeled "Convert tooltips to rollover captions" I was able to capture the first level of the menu although it wouldn't capture any further levels. By using the screenshots suggestion I was able to get what I needed in the further levels.

    HI ryan09 and welcome to our community

    My guess is that you need to supplement the auto capture with a manual capture here and there as the rollover menus appear. Just press the print screen key to force a snapshot. I think Captivate isn't sensing the menu, which is logical, as it typically looks for mouse clicks to sense screen changes.

    Another possibility is to click Options > Recording Options... then click the Edit settings... button next to the Recording mode field. (This field should say one of four possible things: Demonstration/Assessment Simulation/Training Simulation/Custom) You can try enabling the option labeled "Convert tooltips to rollover captions". But as these are menus and not tooltips, I'm not sure it will help here. Certainly worth a try to see though.
