Number keys used as shortcut isn't working for some users in the IE browser. Has anyone run into this?

The user has to enter a number, say 16 and this will automatically move to the next screen. The simulation will be playing in Internet Explorer. It seems to work fine for some testers and not at all for others. Has anyone run into this before or know of a workaround? Captivate 7 is the version.
