OAM files in Captivate states?

My goal is to display 13 videos in a training course hosted on our server running Moodle.

Is it possible using a "Text Caption" state to import an OAM file into that state. I placed an OAM file into a caption state then published the content. The click event changed to the state of the text field containing the OAM object, it appears but doesn't play. Should player controls be added into the OAM file, will that work?

I tried using web objects first in "States" but they seem unstable. Are they intended to be used? I wanted to connect to my Viemo account to reduce bandwidth. My videos load in the text state, the Captivate player controls function correctly but I cannot find a method to keep the video from starting when the the html page loads. Can java script solve this problem?

Multimedia objects and shapes appear as available when working with states so my assumption is they should work? Does Adobe help discuss the feature set of states and their objects, I couldn't find a comprehensive discussion for these issue.

Buttons unfortunately are not available in states unless I'm missing something?

    Captivate 9 is the very first version that offers object states for anything other than a button.  It's still a VERY new feature and has some 'issues'.

    I doubt very much whether Adobe has considered doing some of the things you're asking about (e.g. using OAM files inside states).

    My gut tells me that this feature has a long way to go before it can be considered 'stable'.

    Are you able insert/publish these OAM files directly in Captivate without using States?

    Yes I can insert, publish and run OAM files in Captivate 9 when at the slide the object has focus. I hoped it was possible to use the "states" concept as a method for additional content to reside on the same slide. It enables a complex linear work flow. I'll add this ideas to the feature request blog along with the ability for buttons to exist in states. I'm not sure what this requires architecturally of the software to gain these attributes but it would move Captivate to new heights!
