Opening a Published Project

I created a project in Captivate2 and published it to an swf that I imported into a PowerPoint presentation. The project is still playing in the PowerPoint, but it needs to be edited.

I have since upgraded to Captivate3 and cannot open the projects. I believe that I may have published them, but not saved them. Is there a way to fix this? Please help!

Thanks for the information jbradley and Rick. I wish it was different, but at least I know. Rick, I did follow your advice and submit a wish form. Thanks again!

Hi nwilliams79 and welcome to the forums!

Unfortunately, you very much need the original .cp project files.

Opening Captivate 2 project files in Captivate 3 is not a problem, but you cannot edit the published .swf files in any version of Captivate.

Hi Nikki and I too welcome to our community

As jbradley88 said, you are pretty much stuck without access to the source files. Which brings me to my reason for adding to the thread.

If you are unable to locate the files, you have no recourse but to restart from scratch. Owie! Please consider submitting a wish form asking the developers to create a Captivate decompiler that will allow you to point at a Captivate created .SWF or .EXE and spit back out a functional .CP file. You may do this by clicking here and completing the form you should find there.

    Sincerely... Rick
