Question

Opening new browser from Captivate

I have added a captivate movie (screenshot with click boxes) to an Articulate presentation. The movie plays; however, my click boxes direct learners to live URLs. Unfortunately, after going to the first URL, learners are kicked out of the captivate movie if they close the new URL browser.

Within Articulate, I can insert the captivate movie and it opens in a new browser; however, the click boxes also open on the browser as the movie. Is there a way to direct the click boxes to open up a NEW browser so that when they exit the first URL, they can return back to the original movie and go to the next click box?

Hi Canakkalee, and welcome to the Captivate User Community!

Are you saying that the "New" window selection in the click-box properties dialog doesn't work, or are you not using it?

1) Open click-box properties (double-click or right-click and select "Properties")
2) "On Success > Open File or URL (from drop-list)"
3) Click carat at end of URL blank and select "New"
4) Click carat again and de-select "Continue Playing Movie"

Note:
"carat" = downward facing dark half-diamond sometimes called a "more items arrow"
