Overlapping polygon buttons problem

Hi all,

I've been working hard on an interaction and just when I think I have it all figured out, I ran into an issue where adjacent polygon buttons overlap each other and interfere with the ability to correctly use the rollover state/button functionality.

When I set the shape of the polygon, the button works just fine as expected. The problem occurs when I create an adjacent polygon--although the polygon is set correctly, the active area is defined by a rectangle that bounds the shape. So essentially, the bounding rectangle of the top layer covers up part of the polygon in a layer below it so that rollovers/button functionality do not work.

I found a short YouTube video that illustrates the exact issue I'm having here: Polygon Overlap Issue - YouTube

Does anyone have a workaround for this problem? Or do I need to rethink the interaction?

Thanks!

Are you publishing to HTML5 or SWF?

I will be publishing to HTML5, but so far I've just been using the "Preview" in Captivate. I'm using Captivate 9, btw.

I just created this example with the free polygon tool (not with the triangle shapes), the two triangle buttons are functioning perfectly as expected, and their bounding boxes do overlap.
