Pan Touch Image inside Container

Any tips on how to achieve a pan and move a image inside a container, like google maps panning inside a container.

The image is wider then the slide, the example below, I would like that the user have the ability to pan the image to the left and be fixed inside the container so it wont mess the interface design. (off course HTML5 and specially touch solution).
