Paragraph spacing… What?

You've got to be kidding... could somone have possibly thought that a program such as this not need some way to space between paragraphs, sentences etc. other than to create multiple objects? I've been using Mac's and Adobe products for 30 years and this one takes the cake... Geez! So I can't import Powerpoint reliably, and I can't create a simple bulleted list paragraph inside of Captivate... Pretty crazy. I'd love to hear the "experts" explain why I wouldn't need that or some crazy work-around to cover the giant collective WTF!

Adobe... Hello????

    A workaround could be to set a variable in the text box. Then write in your inline formatting and text as the variable. For example create a variable 'text'. Then:

    text = "<p style= 'line-height:2'> your text <br>More of your text</p>"

    You can add bullet points, line spacing, or essentially whatever formatting you want.

    Captivate's text formatting options currently stop short of what you are wanting if it was to specify something more than line height.

    I agree it would be nice to have paragraph spacing, but it's currently not there, so you'll have to live with it and just add an extra carriage return between paragraphs then set that to whatever size font you need.

    Feel free to log an enhancement request for paragraph spacing.  The more the merrier.  We've all done it.

    Feature Request? ...I must be getting old because there is simply no way a company that makes InDesign would have a text object with no paragraph formatting. It's a WTF is all I can say! A hard return puts a giant space between the sentence 1. and 2. Changing the type size of that space does nothing... and leading, has nothing to do with that. I'm not going to even bother justifying this by submitting a "feature request." I'd say it means Adobe isn't selling much Captivate to Mac users and or most people use Articulate. Bummer... Glad I didn't pay a thousand bucks for this. It's almost like a dirty secret...

    Sorry to disagree, but it IS the same Adobe that makes InDesign.  So yes, you must be getting old.

    Captivate's prospective enhancements get included or excluded for each version based on how many users like yourself request them.

    If you don't have enough interest in this issue to submit a feature request and add your voice to the others that want this, then you'll just have to live with it.

    I just checked with a colleague that is using Storyline and it does not appear to have a paragraph spacing option either.  Just line height, same as Captivate.  So perhaps Adobe isn't losing all that many customers to Articulate because of this.

    Not 100% sure what you need...but you can add spacing between lines in a single text caption, and you can add bulleted lists...though I don't usually import from Powerpoint so I may not be encountering the problem you are (though I have imported from Powerpoint before with bulleted lists and didn't have a problem). Could you elaborate on what's going on and maybe there is a simple solution?
