Pass/Fail messages on Quiz

We have a quiz set up to pass/fail at 80%. We are using random questions from a question pool. We want a message to display that says more or less, "You have passed the course, click Continue" and then the next slide the certificate they get for passing the course. If they fail, it should say, "you did not pass, click Retake" and it should take them back to the start of the quiz.

For some reason, the pass/fail options show up at the same time. I used the results slide to create this slide and I think that may be where the problem lay. I probably should have hidden the results slide and created a separate pass/fail message slide showing the score, but even when I try that it doesn't work. How do I fix this problem?

When I try to upload the file here it says the extension does not match the file type even though it is cptx.

Here is the file I'm testing. I have a script running in Advanced Actions, but it's not working right. I also have a Continue button on the results page that I can't delete. I've gone back and forth with using the results page as my message slide and hiding it and using a separate slide.

You can't post files and anyway I don't download files for debugging. I am just a user, not paid by Adobe.

It looks like you don't understand some features of Captivate's quiz. There is NO need to create any advanced action for what you want, since eveerything is available out of the box. Just edit the Quiz Results messages under that button in Quiz Preferences, Settings as mentioned before.

The Continue button on the Results slide is as important as the Submit button on the question slides. It is that button which is needed to pause the slide and to trigger the actions specified under Quiz Preferences, Pass and Fail.

Hiding the results slide will only complicate the situation, because it is really needed to trigger the Retake functionality. I could post links to several blogs which I wrote about Quiz basics and Quiz tweaks?  There is no need for tweaking in your case at all.

Quiz Tweaks 5: Results slide - eLearning (adobe.com)

If you really insist to use an advanced action, please post the preview of that action as a screenshot and tell which event you are using to trigger this action. Probably On Enter for the results slide.

Use the results slide, you need it anyway for the Retake button (which resets all answers and navigates to the first question slide) and the Continue button (which will be transferring the results to the LMS).

You find the Pass/Fail messages under Quiz Preferences, Settings, button 'Quiz Result Messages'. Did you use that workflow?
