Pause/Resume without skin

Any ideas how to do this would be greatly appreciated!!!
I need to provide my users a way to pause and resume a swf file with out the use of a skin file. Is there a button or can I create a button in Captivate that will provide this functionality? I am not familiar with javascript, but if I place some command in javascript on a button, would this be a way to do this?
