Pause slide till end of video

Several of the modules I created consist of an intro slide and then a slide with a video (mp4). In preview and published in the LMS the video slide  is set to autoplay and "pausing the slide till end of video" and It was all in working order last week.

This morning a student told me that the video won't play. Indeed i could recreate the problem with a dummy user and even in preview mode of the unchanged original file the problem suddenly occurs; video doesn't start playing, slide doesn't pauses and progresses automatically (even with autoplay checked). This is happening to all my captivate files...

Anyone else having this problem or is this a problem on my system? (I am using mac)

Problem is solved, but does the solution maybe pose a problem?

Solution: I found it odd that there was such a clear difference between last week and the performance now, so I checked the safari update and indeed it included a block for autoplaying content with audio. When I unblock this for all sites then the preview goes without a problem (which makes sense since the preview playes in safari). The same goes for the viewing online within a LMS. When I change the default setting to allow, then playing the content goes without a problem.

    I see two problems however:

    1) I think I'm not the only one with modules that exist of an explainer video/animation followed by question slides. Because a lot of people chose to not show the playbar on question slides (I think...) , it is not possible to skip back as soon as you started with the quiz. If the slide with the video is skipped after three seconds because the suppression of autoplay will make sure that the slide is not paused, then the student are starting with the quiz a lot sooner then planned and without the possibility to skip back and view the video.

    2) Safari doesn't notify the user actively that content is suppressed, so how will the user figure out it is a browser setting and not a glitch in the learning content. Do other browsers have the same autoplay suppression feature?

    any thoughts?

    kind regards,

Which version do you use? Is the video inserted as event video or as synchronized video?

version 9.02.437 and the video is inserted as an event video. Browsing from within captivate doesn't make a difference, problem persists.

    Kind regards
