Question

pdf won't run in adobe

hello.

I created a Captivate Tutorial using Captivate 9. The output is in HTML5 format, and it has a link to a PDF form at the end. I zipped the entire set of files for the HTML5 output, including the PDF form, and uploaded it to AdobeConnect. The tutuorial runs fine from AdobeConnect until I get to the page that has the link to the form. It says "not found" and "The selected resource does not exist." The form appears just fine if I run the tutorial from a file folder on my network.

Any clue as to what is wrong here?

Thanks,

    Rod---

By the way, I know I have successfully done this earlier:  I have a version of my tutorial in HTML5 with the Adobe form link at the end uploaded to AdobeConnect. It works---the tutorial runs as expected and the Adobe form opens in Adobe Reader also as expected. I just need to modify the content of the tutorial and now need to upload a new version. Seems that I now cannot get it to work properly. (Can't seem to determine what I am doing differently.)

Also, I have a new image on my PC. I am now running Windows 10; earlier I was running Windows 8. Has the Windows zip program changed---would that affect it?

Can you try leaving the link as is but setting the output for SCORM and then upload a test SCO of this to SCORM Cloud to see if it works there?  This will tell you whether the issue is likely to be something in Adobe Connect rather than your course content.

That is a good way to isolate the problem, but unfortunately we do not use SCORUM Cloud. I will need to figure out how to do this. (Fortunately, in the meantime, we have a version of our Captivate HTML5 output that does work [with the PDF form] and is already being hosted from AdobeConnect. But if we need to make an update, we are out of luck.)

I will look into this and get back to you (probably next week).

    Thanks for your help,

    Rod---

Attached is how I created the link to the PDF file in Captivate. (I am using Captivate 9.) It is a simple hyperlink to an external PDF that resides in the same root directory as the Captivate HTML5 output. It is set to open in a new browser window. Again, the HTML5 tutorial runs fine on my network, and the PDF form opens and works quite nicely. The problem arises when I upload it to AdobeConnect: the HTML presentation works, but when I click on the link at the end, the form will not open. (The error is "Not Found.") I tried generated the HTML5 output as a zip file, and then separately adding the PDF to the zip file and then uploading the AdobeConnect. I also tried generating the output unzipped, tried adding the PDF and then zipping and uploading---I get the same problem. (It appears that you must upload the HTML5 output to AdobeConnect as a zip file.)

    Any ideas?

Can you show a screenshot of how you formed the link to this PDF in Captivate?
