Performance Support Mode: Interactive Mode

I am a newbie to Captivate, so I still have a lot to learn. However, I was curious if Captivate has an electronic performance support system? Or a way to provide context sensitive task based instructions to the end-users. If the user is in the system (i.e. SAP), and they need assistance performing a task, is there a way for the user to interact with the live application? I hope I was clear with my question.

Thank you,

D

I think what you are asking is whether or not Captivate can create the kind of online HELP content that could be linked into the Help system of another app (e.g. SAP) so that if the user is trying to perform a task, and they click on the HELP button in that task screen, the Captivate content is displayed for them.

    Is that correct?

Yes! That is exactly what I am asking! LOL. Is this possible? If not within Captivate, are you aware of any other suggestions that could make this possible?

You can certainly create the HELP file content with Captivate, but you need to place the content on a web server that can be accessed by the SAP application.

From memory, each SAP screen where a HELP button or link appeared had a specific identifier code and there was somewhere in the Administration area that an admin person (or SAP developer) could specify which link would be called when an end user clicked on that particular help link or button.

    Hi,

I don't think this is possible. Captivate has the COMMUNITY button for help, blogs, learning, etc. And has these forums which usually get answered pretty quickly, and also has learning tutorials on the Adobe site and throughout the web. Many of the other adobe applications now have tool tips where you hover over the tool and it shows a little animation helping to explain what it does.

I think your best best might be to google or search YouTube when you need specific help, use the forums here.... or try this

    Hope that helps!

    cheers!
