Persistant Submit Button

What appears to be a submit button shows up on my slide (not a question slide or anything) and I am unable to remove it.  It sits in a seemingly random spot.

It should indeed be either on a master slide, or an object timed for the rest of the project. But I'm bit curious about what you mean by 'a seemingly random spot.'?

I don't think this is a master slide issue, the "Submit button" appears on top of items on the slide,  it appears on slides that correspond to two different masters, and a new slide with the same master does not have the issue.  I only have four slides (mostly want to understand how this happened, rather than need to fix).  If they are labeled A,B,C, and D, then slides B and D have this persistent button.  I also went to each slide and hit "ctrl+a" and then delete. After this, only the submit button showed up (again, only on those two slides).

By random spot, I mean it appears slightly right of center, but otherwise centered.

The button cannot be selected or clicked, and only appears when in previewed or published (not in slide edit mode).

    Thanks for the help.

Master slide objects, and objects timed for the rest of the project can appear On Top of any slide. But since you talk about different master slides used, the only place to look for in that case is the Main Master slide (daughter master slides can inherit objects from that slide) or in all slides before the appearance of that Submit button, with the Timing panel active, looking for the button Timed for the rest of the project

Look at the slides around where this button first starts appearing on the slides.  You may have inadvertently set the timing for a Smart Shape button somewhere to be for Rest of Project and that's why you're seeing it on slides but cannot select it to remove it.

Alternatively, this button might be sitting on one of the Master Slides that you are using in your project.  So check them as well.
