Question

Picture to pop up on click?

Hello,

I'm hoping to be able to have a picture pop up upon a user's click. I'm working on a slide that looks like a gameboard, and the idea is that as the user can click anywhere, the game piece advances and a picture pops up. There would be a total of about 10-15 clicks and pop-up pictures.

This wroks as a powerpoint animation, but I'm not sure how to make it work here.I initially thought I could just have one large click box and give the a sequence of directions (first click, picture 1, second click picture 2, etc.). The only way I can think of doing it is just having separate slides.

Thank you very much for any input!

rod gave you a really good resource.  This entry might get you started:  http://lilybiri.posterous.com/playing-hide-and-seek-with-captivate-objects  This one is more advanced I think:  http://lilybiri.posterous.com/concentration-game-created-exclusively-with-c

conceptually what you're going to do is hide all the images, then use a clickbox/button with advanced action to show the corresponding image and probably hide all the others, depending on the effect you want.

    Hi Andy, Rod,

Thanks for pointing to my blog. I should upgrade the first blog post for CP5.5 (but do not know which version is used here) because in CP5.5 it is possible also to show objects set to time for the rest of the project with advanced actions on a slide where they are not really 'sitting'. This was not possible in CP5.0.

The contentration game was fun, but little bit more complicated. An easier game can be found in this post:

Amazed myself how many times I do use this functionality...

I'm sure I speak for Captivate users everywhere when I say that we're very grateful for all the time you've put into creating these blog posts and examples that showcase how to use Captivate's Advanced Action functionality.  It has proven to be one of the big differentiators between what this app can do and what others in the same field cannot.

This is all doable with Advanced Actions and Interactive Objects in Captivate.

Lilybiri's blog has lots of examples of how to achieve similar feats: http://lilybiri.posterous.com/
