Question

Playability of Flash movies using Quicktime codec

Hi, I'm wondering if I use a Flash movie in Captivate that was created using a Quicktime codec, will that mean the end users will need Quicktime installed, or will they only need the Flash Player? A lot of the end users will be company people who won't be allowed to download and install anything, so I want to make sure they're covered with just having Flash.

Thanks!

If I understand correctly, you have started with a QuickTime movie that you
have converted to a Flash file. That Flash file is either swf or flv,
    correct?

If so, then any talk of a 'QuickTime codec' is inaccurate. There is no
longer any codec involved - a CODEC is a COder and DECoder used on video
files of various file formats (Real, MPG4, QuickTime etc). The Flash file
    format does not use codecs.

So the quick answer is that so long as your users have the appropriate Flash
player installed then your users should be able to play your Captivate
movies and will not need to have QuickTime installed.
