Please cancel my subscription
I can appreciate the business decision to make subscription cancellation so difficult that we will just get frustrated and let the subscription hold. That strategy has worked for AOL for years.
However, I would like to cancel my subscription.
I have finished my one-year commitment and would not prefer to make another year-long commitment at this time.
The fact that you don't have reasonable subscription management tools in my account makes me doubt your overall commitment to customer service.
The fact that we have to talk with Customer Support to cancel our subscription and that Customer Support is non-responsive, instead sending us to the public forum, shows that you have made the business decision not only to put customers through unnecessary steps, but also that you don't mind people airing their complains about your organization in public.
So... I only had one reason to cancel my subscription before. Now I have several reasons to cancel, and a few more to talk to others in my field about not renewing or subscribing in the first place.
This has not been a positive customer experience overall.
