Please HELP with importing ppt slides (Captivate 3 and 5)

I'll do my best trying to phrase this so that it makes sense.

Whenever you import a ppt slide into Captivate 3, the slide has it's own place in the timeline, separate from the slide duration itself.  Since it becomes its own element inside of captivate (like an object), I'm free to move the slide around, resize it, and even copy and paste it individually into other slides.  These settings are the same if you open a "Captivate 3 Project" in Captivate 5.

Unfortunately, if I import ppt slides directly into Captivate 5, it does not behave the same way.  The ppt slide is NOT its own element inside the Captivate slide, and does not allow me to copy, resize or reposition my ppt slide.

My Question Is:

Is there any way to import a ppt slide into Captivate 5 and have it be separate from the background/slide duration?

Captivate 5x versions handle PPT slides differently now. Whereas previously the PPT slides were imported as static images, it's now possible to retain animation and even roundtrip edit in PowerPoint from within Captivate.

As a result, you don't have the option of treating your PPT slide as an image unless you take a screen capture of it and insert it onto a normal slide that way.

I think if you work with what Captivate 5 is doing, you'll start to appreciate the creative possibilities it offers.
