Possibility for linked PDF to open not in browser?

Hello,

I'm using Captivate 9 and I'm wondering if it is possible for a linked PDF to open separating as a PDF rather than in a new browser window.

For example the PDF has auto update fields that are not updating when opened in the browser but will update fine when opened in Adobe Acrobat.

Thanks

    Hi there

To my knowledge, how any linked file opens or doesn't is completely dependent on the end user's device and how it has been configured to deal with whatever the file is.

I'd be surprised to discover you could influence exactly what happens when the end user clicks the link.

In other words, I don't believe you can force any specific behavior.

    Cheers... Rick

Captiv8r is correct. On my computer Firefox asks if you want to download a PDF or open it in Acrobat, Chrome just downloads the PDF without asking anything, and Internet Explorer and Edge opens them directly in the browser.
