PowerPoint Crashes Recording Audio under Windows Vista

I am with a state university (i.e. limited financial resources) and responsible for Breeze support. We use version 5. Some of the faculty with newer PCs are starting to use the Windows Vista OS. I have noticed that PowerPoint 2003 crashes when attempting to record audio in Breeze. All of the other functions seem to be working. The only workaround I've found is to record the audio in PowerPoint and then import that into Breeze.

Has anyone else encountered this? We don't have enough Vista users at this point for extensive testing, but this would force the issue as to whether we must upgrade to Adobe Presenter 6.

We had the same problem at our Uni ands the solution was to upgarde to version 6 of the Presenter as the problem was not Vista, it was the HD soundcards in the HP PC's we were using.

Thanks. I found out we had a similar problem under XP with a Realtek card. That's a known issue in Breeze for which the only solution recommended is to upgrade to Presenter 6. This is a SigMatel high definition audio card. What do you have? Or is it your understanding that any High Defintion Card will cause the problem?

From what I was told it was a problem with a number of HD soundcards of which the Real Tek is one known to have the problem and these are the cards we have. The upgrade has resolved the issue on all our PC's.
Hope this helps
Thanks
